§ 1 Danish Centre for Urban History is established by Institute for and Den Gamle By, Danmarks Købstadsmuseum.

§ 2 The purpose of Danish Centre for Urban History is to promote and coordinate research, post-graduate studies and dissemination of urbanity and the history and culture of urban areas. The field of work is primarily Denmark from the Viking Age until today, and the broad an comparative research on international level is emphaized. 

§ 3 Danish Centre for Urban History is conducted by a board of directors, which is the executive committee of the centre. The board of directors consists of 5 persons. The Departement of History and Den Gamle By appoint two members each, and the last member is appointed by and among the members of the council mentioned in §4. Members of the board of directors are appointed/elected for two year at a time. In order to ensure the continuity of the board duties, three members of the board of directors are appointed in odd years and two members are appointed in even years. This means that The Departement of History and Den Gamle By appoint a member to the board of directors each year. The board of directors elects its own chairman and deputy chairman. The chairman manage the board meetings. In the absence of the chairman, the board duties are managed by the deputy chairman. The board of directors determines its own internal regulations. The board of directors is able to constitute a quorum in the presence of at least three of members of the board of directors, including the chairman, and in the absence of him og her, the deputy chairman. A record of the meeting must be kept and signes by all participants in the meeting. 

§ 4 The council is composed of members of the Danish Committee for Urban History and acts as a professional advisory forum for Danish Centre for Urban History. 

§ 5 East year before the end of April and with at least 14 days' notice, the board of directors must convene a metting of the council in Danish Centre for Urban History. At this meeting, the board of directors informs the council about the work of the centre and presents and discuss future activities and events. If the meeting of the council takes place in an odd year, the last member of the board of directors must be appointed by and among members of the council. The Department of History and Den Gamle By must appoint their members of the board of directors before the meeting. In addition, the board of directors is able to convene the council, if at least three of the members of the board of directors find it appropriate. The meeting must be convened with at leat 14 days' notice specifying agenda, time and place.

§ 6 Employees at The Departement of History and Den Gamle By are able to discharge tasks in the centre. Thus, a head of the centre must be appointed to manage the tasks of the centre on a daily basis. The board of directors prepares a description of functions and competences to the head of the centre, which must be approved by The Departement of History and Den Gamle By.

§ 7 The Departement of History and Den Gamle By provides resources for the work of the centre. 

§ 8 Amendments of the existing articles a must be approved by The Departement of History and Den Gamle By.

The articles are approved by The Departement of History at Aarhus University and Den Gamle By, Danmarks Købstadsmuseum on March 15, 2001.

An amendment of §4 on the recommondation of The Departement of History and Den Gamle By has been open to inspection at the board meeting in Danish Centre for Urban History on April 30, 2002.
