This RUL conference aims at a broad spectrum of subjects related to urban culture and literacy in Scandinavia and beyond. The focus of the conference will be on different aspects of "urban literacies" which include all forms of written communication in towns, but also their hinterlands, and on the two-way dynamics between urbanity and literacy.
